Assumptions used
- Default SMS rates are per-country prices taken from the public pricing pages of SMS providers (read October 2026); “Mixed countries” is their plain average. Your own provider's rates will differ — replace them with figures from your invoices.
- SMS cost = verifications × cost per SMS × (1 + retry rate). Retries are extra SMS sent to the same number.
- Phone-Verif handles the share of users with WhatsApp. Its price per verification follows the published credit packs for that monthly volume (1 credit = 1 successful verification); failed attempts don't consume credits, so retries cost nothing there.
- The remainder stays on SMS at the same cost.
- Yearly figures are monthly × 12. Integration effort, fixed fees, taxes, fraud losses and conversion effects are not included.

How to read the result
The break-even cost is the Phone-Verif price per verification at which both scenarios cost the same. It equals your SMS cost per verification (cost per SMS × (1 + retry rate)). If your SMS traffic is cheap and rarely resent, Phone-Verif may cost more — the calculator shows that too.
